The worst part of getting your nails done, is knowing that you’ll have to do them again in a few days. Because, there is nothing worse than having chipped polish on your nails. Furthermore, and for whatever reason, we sometimes just can’t keep up. Wether we can’t get an appointment at the salon, or our favorite nail polish is finished...We understand the frustration. This is why we have brought to you some tricks that well help you get your nail polish to last longer.
Never Skip Base
Base is really important when applying nail polish. In fact, it has a variety of benefits for your nails. First, base works as a protector of your nails, from all the chemicals in the nail-polish. In addition, it helps the polish stick correctly, as well as it allows getting nail polish to last longer.
Apply Remover Before
Experts also recommend of starting with remover before applying base, then nail polish. In fact, a remover filled with acetone is actually good for your nails. Why? because it provides enough vitamins to make them stronger. In addition, it allows the nail polish to stick longer on the nails. Tip: When your nail polish starts drying up, pour few drops of your remover into the bottle, shake it a little, and you’ll see how you can use for few more times.
Use gloves To Wash Dishes
Of course, one of the main reasons our nail polish disappears quickly, and we have to go through the hassle of doing them again, is because of kitchen duties. The mixture of hot water and detergent, make your nail lacquer weaker. Therefore, the nail polish starts fading away quickly. So, if you would like getting your nail polish to last longer, you should wear gloves when washing dishes, or laundry. That way, you avoid the potent contact of your fingertips and what can cause them to dry off, and eventually chip off.
Wait Between Coats
Yes, many of us love to get the perfect shade, or color by adding coats. And that’s perfectly fine! However, the wait time between coats is equally important for your nails, as for the polish to stay intact longer. Adding several layers without waiting until it’s completely dry, creates thick layers. Consequently, it takes them a lot longer to dry, and they become sticky to everything you touch. Therefore, last a lot less than they should.
Hydrate Your Nails Often
Finally, hydration is really important for your skin, and your nails as well. Before starting the entire process, make sure to apply hydrating cream to your nails. After letting set, you can apply the remover and everything that follows. In addition, since dried-out polish is more likely to peel off of your nails, it’s recommended to use hydrating hand-cream at least twice everyday, and make it an indispensable part of your nails daily care routine.
