Must-Know Photography Tips To Nail The Perfect Shot

In a world overwhelmed by social media, we came to learn that photography skills are more important than we thought. You see those influencers making money out of their accounts, simply for the amount of followers they have. Furthermore, it’s important to admit that getting paid for your content on social media requires lots of effort and dedication. However, that being said, the quality of content is often irrelevant.

But, if you are fascinated by photography, or just interested in gaining a ”online reputation,” nailing the perfect shot could make your account, or break it. Therefore, we offer you this free photography 101, in order to nail the perfect shot.

The Right Pose To Avoid Camera Shake

Eliminating camera shake is key in photography. Although with a smart phone it’s a bit easier to control, a camera on the other hand is harder to manage. Of course, a tripod is the best solution. However, when you go backpacking through Europe, it might be a bit difficult to carry a tripod with you.

The good news, is that you can fix camera shake through two additional things. One, your body posture, and two, the camera position. In the latter case, if you can find a spot where you can hold the camera to the ground would be ideal. If not possible, tuck your elbows into your chest to give your arms additional support, while firmly holding the camera with one hand and the lens with the other.

The Rule Of Third Should Become Your Friend

The rule of third is indispensable for professionals. In fact, it allows you to center the picture, and nail the perfect shot. Learning to master this rule is one of the best photography tips anyone can give you. So, what’s it about?

The rule of third is basically splitting the frame into nine equal boxes. Then, use the gridlines to compose the shot. By placing your subject in the middle of the boxes, you will be allowed to capture more.

Don’t Use Flash, Adjust The ISO

Yeah, using flash is so easy but doesn’t always give great results. This technique can actually work with smartphones as well. ISO is the amount of light you allow into the picture. A high ISO is ideal for darker environments, while with plenty of natural light, you should use a lower ISO. On the other hand, certain smartphones allow the use of manual photography mode, which lets control sensitivity to light.

Shutter Speed

In addition to the right ISO, you also need to control the shutter speed. This concerns the speed of the lens aperture. In fact, you can get so creative with this in so many possible ways. It allows you to freeze movement, blur subjects and even focus on one specific part of the frame. Shutter speed must be adjusted depending on the scene, movement, rapidity and the kind of shot you want to get. One important tip, you should really be careful with eliminating the camera shake before working with shutter speed, to avoid getting a blurry shot.

Landscape Vs. Portrait

One of my favorite photography tips to nail the perfect shot, is understanding the difference between photographing landscape and people. When it comes to the subject of the photo, they must be the main focus. So, if you want to get a nice and clear picture of yourself, do not stand before a surreal location, because you can’t get the perfect shot of the two. However, you can choose to blur a bit of the person and highlight the scenery. These photography tips can apply the same rule vice-versa!
